I am excited to have been selected to exhibit in the 8th Annual HIDDEN – A Rookwood Sculpture Walk.

HIDDEN – A Rookwood Sculpture Walk is an outdoor sculptural exhibition of visual art that showcases Rookwood as Australia’s most multicultural site. The exhibition of artwook at Rookwood aims to de-mystify some of the misconceptions surrounding cemeteries as dark or intimidating settings. Each year, the exhibition invites artists to respond to the themes surrounding the Rookwood site, including history, culture, remembrance and love.
My sculpture consists of colourful Koi Carp made from waste plastics to show the need to protect the environment and to recycle waste. The fish are made of the plastic from traffic barrier tape, plastic strings and other wasted material.
The Hidden Exhibition lasts from 23 September to 23 October 2016. The exhibition is open from sunrise to sunset, with catalogues and visitor’s guides available from the Rookwood General Cemeteries Reserve Trust office during office hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30am – 5.00pm Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays, 9.00am – 4.00pm Attendance is free. Parking and a map of the exbibition are available at the RGCRT office, opposite the All Souls Chapel and along Hawthorne Avenue. More information can be found on the HIDDEN website. My sculpture can be found at Site 6 on the map.
